Lottery cash to attract more students to play sport

Students at Sheffield Hallam University will have more chances to play sport thanks to a Lottery boost of over £170,000.

The cash has come from a new fund set up by Sport England and Hallam is one of 54 universities to benefit.

The plan is to attract students who don’t currently take part and will help tackle the issue of many young people giving up sport.

It will target undergraduates who are not in sport clubs and societies, with the aim of getting 4,650 new students involved over the next three years.
