Jaki Booth, new chief executive of Sheffield University students' union

The University of Sheffield Students’ Union has appointed a new Chief Executive.

Jaki Booth joins following four-and-a-half years at Southampton University Students’ Union, where she is currently Chief Executive. Before that she spent seven years at Birmingham City Students’ Union as general manager.

Jaki is credited with providing Southampton’s union with ‘stability and leadership’, creating a ‘positive culture of teamwork, innovation and ambition’.

Under Jaki’s guidance Southampton has experienced five successive years of financial surplus.

Ally Buckle, Sheffield Students’ Union president, said: “Jaki’s proven record as an excellent students’ union chief executive and her aspirations for the future of our Students’ Union made her the outstanding candidate for this role.

“She is going to be a brilliant staff leader, and I cannot wait to welcome her in June.”

Jaki will take up the position of Chief Executive at Sheffield Students’ Union on Monday, June 2.
