Sheffield Hallam University’s excellence in research is recognised

Sheffield Hallam University’s history research has been ranked in fourth place out of all the modern universities in the UK.

The ranking was made during the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, which assess the quality and impact of research from all UK institutions.

It found that 67 per cent of Sheffield Hallam’s history research is ‘internationally excellent and world leading’

Prof Chris Hopkins, from the university, said: “We have some very unique expertise in history, and the REF has recognised the impact of our research.”
