A Sheffield medicine student who trekked through the Peak District wearing a blindfold has smashed his £1,000 fundraising target.
Stephen Lau, aged 22, took on the 10 kilometre charity challenge after being inspired by his time spent volunteering at an eye hospital in Nepal.
A set of guides led the fourth year student across the terrain, all in aid of the Himalayan Cataract Project.
Canadian Stephen, who lives in Broomhill, said: “I spent about eight hours blindfolded, walking more than 10km. I beat by target before the walk of £1,000 and am at a total of almost £1,200 now.”
