Sheffield teenagers crack the code for computer success

A computer crew from Sheffield have been pitting their wits against the cream of young talent from across the country at an event at Plymouth University.

Twelve teenagers from the city took part in a Festival of Code, which saw young people getting together, forming teams and designing and building apps, websites, games and hardware.

The group prepared for the event with help from Sheffield digital agency Yoomee, along with two student mentors who volunteered to share their skills.

Mentor Edward Andrews-Hodgson said: “The young people have such a strong work ethic and are really creative. They’ve gone from ideas to building their systems so quickly. I’m really impressed with how they’ve done.”
