A college in Sheffield has been rated among the best in the country for its performance.
Longley Park Sixth Form College, in Longley, Sheffield, is in the top 10 per cent of colleges for advanced courses, according to a report from the Department for Education.
The publication of the National Success Rate Tables allows colleges to compare their performance with others across the UK.
Longley Park had strong performance in science, maths, social sciences, business, administration, law, history, philosophy and theology, engineering and manufacturing.
Results in these areas were in the top 20 per cent, while results in languages, literature and culture were in the top 10 per cent.
Mo Nisbet, principal, said: “At Longley Park, we want to stretch the potential of all students.
“The emphasis is on academic success and developing the personal skills, confidence and independence that our students need for the next stage in their career.”
Barnsley College was also rated as one of the best.
It was 5th for its apprenticeship course success rate.
