Some 27 pupils and staff and parents from Birkdale School have set off on the annual trip to Nepal.

It will be Birkdale’s 14th visit to the Peace Garden School in the Kathmandu Valley that was built thanks to their fundraising efforts. It has nearly 300 pupils.

The Sheffield party will spend three weeks in Nepal, joined this year by former Birkdale pupil Gina Walton, who will lead eight members of Brunt’s Academy in Mansfield where she now teaches.
