Work under way on new primary school

Rebuilding work at a Sheffield primary has begun with a special turf cutting ceremony to get the project under way.

Pupils at Fox Hill Primary welcomed guests including Peter Lauener, chief executive of the Education Funding Agency, Simon Trevor, regional manager for McAlpine, and Coun Jackie Drayton, Cabinet member for children and young people.

The work is part of a £7 million scheme will see youngsters at Fox Hill and Prince Edward Primary on the Manor move into new schools in a year’s time.

The new Fox Hill will have capacity for more than 300 pupils, including a 52-place nursery and a 19-place special educational needs unit.
