Youngsters have been helping the Shiregreen community as part of a National Citizenship Service programme.

The project, run by Sheffield Wednesday Football Club, involved housing provider Sanctuary organising hands-on placements for volunteers aged 16 and 17.

They took part in green-fingered tasks at community allotments and residents’ gardens, built a greenhouse for local scouts, and helped out at a local fundraising event for charity.
