Energy system for city flats

PARK Hill flats in Sheffield has been connected to the District Energy network, providing greener energy to its residents.

The complex, managed by Urban Splash, joins Sheffield City Hall and Sheffield Theatres in its connection to the network, which provides heating and hot water to more than 140 buildings in Sheffield.

District Energy uses energy generated through the burning of rubbish at the Bernard Road Energy Recovery Facility.

Park Hill, the largest listed building in Europe, is undergoing an extensive refurbishment and has been turned into modern one or two bedroom apartments. New residents are due to move in shortly.
