People across Sheffield are preparing for a solar eclipse this morning.

The rare phenomenon, in which the sun is obscured by the moon, is due to begin in South Yorkshire at around 8.30am and be at its peak at around 9.30am.

Safety advice has been issued urging people not to stare at the sun.

The last eclipse was in 1999 and the UK will not see another until 2090.
