SOUTH Yorkshire boyband pin-up Louis Tomlinson and his group are causing mayhem in Canada - where officials closed a street after hordes of fans turned up to see One Direction ahead of a TV appearance.

During a stop-off in Toronto, officials were forced to shut down the street outside a music headquarters as the band was overwhelmed by screaming fans.

Enthusiastic crowds lined the streets and packed behind crowd barriers, threatening to overwhelm security guards, while clutching posters for Louis, Harry, Niall, Liam and Zayn to sign.

Inside the studio a blushing Louis, aged 20, from Bessacarr in Doncaster, even caught a girl’s bra which she threw on stage as the lads struggled to walk through the crowds.

Asked by the TV interviewer what life was like before they found fame on the X Factor, Louis said: “I was still at school. My mum was still doing all my ironing and cooking all my food. Just a normal boy.”

One Direction are supporting American band Big Time Rush on their American and Canadian tour.
