Fancy dress fun for Sheffield breast cancer mum

A SHEFFIELD mum has raised more than £1,000 for a cancer charity after facing her own battle with the disease.

Sam Turner, from Mosborough, vowed to collect cash for Cancer Research UK after being treated for breast cancer.

More than 34 Sheffield firms donated items to be auctioned or raffled at the event which took place at Meersbrook Bowling Club.

It is the second year Sam and her family have organised the fancy dress bash and this time they collected £1,092.

Sam, whose daughter Emma is seven, said: “Being a cancer sufferer myself, I decided – once I was fit enough – I was going to try to raise money to help future generations battle this dreadful disease. My family and friends came together again this year and did me proud.

“I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported us including all the businesses who helped us.”
