Firm promises better buses

A BUS company has promised to improve services on a Sheffield estate.

First South Yorkshire made the pledge to residents of Wybourn after they collected 500 signatures on a petition to register their dissatisfaction with the buses on the number 56 route. They have experienced a number of problems over the past two years.

A spokesman for First South Yorkshire said: “‘I am very sorry customers have been experiencing problems. We recognise that the reliability of it needs to improve and I can assure the residents of Wybourn we are working hard to improve our performance. In addition, the introduction of a number of newer vehicles into Sheffield and the launch of the new Sheffield Bus Partnership in October will also support an improvement.”
