HERE come the girls!
And the girls, and the girls... the five generations of this close-knit Hackenthorpe family are a female affair.
Little Carli McDougall, who is also five weeks old today, has completed the beaming line-up after she was born to proud-as-punch Hackenthorpe mum Stacey Hodson, 18.
She also joins doting grandma Nicola Hodson, 40, great-grandma Lynda Cooper, 57, and great-great-grandma Audrey Travis, 80.
Lynda, of Carter Lodge Avenue, said: “It’s not often you get five generations, especially all women.
“We didn’t know what Stacey was having so it was a surprise, when it ended up been a girl we thought we were quite unusual. Stacey had no trouble whatsoever with the birth.Carli was born within half an hour of her going to hospital.”
When Carli joined her family, including outnumbered dad Trevor McDougall who has moved from Scotland to Sheffield and works at Pennine Foods in Drakehouse, she weighed 7lbs 10oz.
Stacey is hoping to go to college later.
“There’s a lot more girls than blokes around in the family at the moment”, added Lynda.
It must be something in the water that has led to this ready-made girl group as the relatives all live close by in Hackenthorpe.
For retired Audrey, Nicola and Stacey, and now bouncing Carli, all have homes just doors away on Carr Forge Road.
Lynda added: “We all live near each other and if you see a big group of girls heading down the street that will probably be us!”
