The end of an era is nigh for the Sheffield teatime staple Henderson’s Relish.
Production of the sauce has shifted from its factory on Leavygreave Road, in the city centre, to a new unit at the Sheffield Parkway Business Park.
Bosses at the firm, which started on Broad Lane in the late 19th century, said modern facilities are necessary to meet growing demand for the condiment.
The new factory – a double hybrid unit covering 5,000 square feet - will join WH Smith, Ferrari Pistons Services and Costco on the business park.
Nick Gillott, director at JF Finnegan which owns the business park, said: “The long-term vision for the site was to accommodate a range of manufacturing and industrial operations. It is entirely fitting to have a company with so much local history.”
