A BARNSLEY optician is advising to customers on how to avoid migraines - and that includes taking breaks from your computer or TV.
The town’s branch of Specsavers is offering tips on how to reduce the risk of migraines and headaches ahead of Migraine Awareness Week, which starts on Sunday.
Darren Thornton, store director, said: “Often a migraine or headache can be triggered by your eyesight and an out of date prescription. We would advise everyone to have a regular eye examination at least once every two years.
“The most important thing to do is to ensure that you taking frequent breaks from the TV screen or your monitor. A good rule to follow is for every 20 minutes, move away and focus your eyes on something that is at least 20 feet away.”
