A Sheffield stunner has missed out on a place in the finals of a national beauty pageant.
Chantelle Parker narrowly missed out on becoming Miss Nottingham and gaining a place in the Miss Great Britain finals.
But the 23-year-old, who overcame a fear of the outdoors in order to compete, says she has been given the confidence she needs to enter more beauty pageants.
Chantelle, from Handsworth, said: “I didn’t win but had a fantastic time and met some wonderful people.
“Just getting up on the stage after everything I have been through was amazing and I was really proud of myself for getting as far as I did.”
Chantelle’s condition developed after she spent a lot of time at home alone after finishing college when she was searching for a job.
The problem soon escalated into a serious condition that caused her to suffer a series of panic attacks and prevented her from leaving the house.
Chantelle said the Miss Great Britain contest gave her the focus she needed to get her life on track and despite her loss she will be entering more beauty pageants.
She added: “I definitely will be doing another - I have got the pageant bug for sure.”
