Christmas morning brought the best present of all for a South Yorkshire couple, as they welcomed their new son.

Isaac was born to David and Lindsay Sanderson on December 25, at Doncaster Royal Infirmary Women’s Hospital.

David, who celebrated his own birthday just three days earlier, said: “What an incredible Christmas it’s been for us.

“Isaac has been a longtime coming for Lindsay and I, who were trying for a baby for seven years before we fell pregnant, so Isaac really is our special gift.”

Lindsay, aged 31, was induced on Sunday – David’s 40th birthday – before Isaac arrived on Christmas Day, at 2.32am, weighing 7lb 2oz.

David, of Edlington, said: “We can’t decide yet who he looks most like – he seems to have a bit of everybody in the family in him.

“We can’t wait for everybody to meet him.”

Kelly McHugh was wrapping presents with partner Ben Fisher when her waters broke late on Christmas Eve.

Just over two hours later, at 12.38am on Christmas Day, the couple were celebrating the arrival of Charlie, weighing 9lb 6oz.

Proud dad Ben, of Bessacarr, said Charlie’s birth at the Doncaster Royal Infirmary had made it his best Christmas ever.

Born shortly after at the hospital, at 3.29am, was Macey Smith, weighing 9lb 8oz, to parents Cathy and Danny Smith, of Balby.
