Co-operative approach brings £7,000 dividend for appeal in Sheffield

CO-OPERATIVE Group branches across Sheffield have raised £7,030 for the appeal for extra family accommodation at Sheffield Children’s Hospital.

They are backing The Sick Children’s Trust’s Branching Out Appeal to create an 11 bedroom house with a direct link to the hospital so that families are on call at any time.

Staff at 14 stores gave an initial donation of £1,330 last May, and have now brought in an extra £5,730 through raffles, book sales, dress down days and

a sponsored walk. Their target is £10,000.

Operations manager Mark Sanderson said: “We have a host of other events planned for the next six months and are eager to keep up the momentum.”

The trust needs £980,000 for the accommodation, adding to existing facilities at Treetop House.
