Staff at Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre have been trained to help guide visually impaired customers during their visit.

Facilities management company Incentive FM has been working with the charity Guide Dogs to ensure blind and partially-sighted shoppers can enjoy shopping trips safely.

Staff in Sheffield have already undergone training to learn appropriate levels of assistance and the hazards specific to each centre. They were blind folded and guided through the centre by a colleague to learn what it is like in a shopping centre without vision.

Glenn Wilson, regional director at Incentive FM, said the training enabled staff to understand how difficult a shopping centre environment can be for some people.
