RESTAURATEUR Marc Sheldon is back at the Wig & Pen and the Milestone after travelling across Sri Lanka for 12 days in a three-wheeled tuk-tuk as part of an international charity challenge.

He helped to more than £2,000 for conservation, families and schools on the island by joining friends Adam Stringer and Mark Flinders for the sponsored Lanka Challenge 2011, run by charity Large Minority.

Marc said: “We really submerged ourselves in the Sri Lankan way of life and got to experience how the money we raised would actually be used. It was a really tough challenge – we were on the road at 8am every day and we covered a lot of ground but it was worth it.”
