New centre for blood disorders

A centre for patients with life-threatening blood disorders has opened at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

Its new therapeutic apheresis unit treats conditions such as leukaemia and myeloma, running a 24-hour service, and is the only centre outside London which collects bone marrow stem cells for the Anthony Nolan charity.
