New cookery classes in Sheffield aimed at reducing food wastage

Free cookery classes are to be launched in Sheffield to help families reduce the amount of food they throw away.

They will give people advice on how to cook healthy meals from scratch, make the most of leftovers, how to portion and store food efficiently and to shop smartly.

The clubs are part of the Love Food Hate Waste campaign.

Ylva Haglund from Love Food Hate Waste said: “No-one sets out to waste food. Busy lifestyles and changing plans mean good food sometimes ends up going to waste. When left with a few odd items in the back of the fridge, it takes a bit of skill and confidence to be able to make them into something tasty.”
