HEALTH professional Rachel Wood is facing a fitness test as she aims to raise £400 for charity after a friend of her nephew was diagnosed with a life threatening brain tumour at 11 months.

Rachel, aged 27, from Crookes, who works with NHS cancer patients, will take part in a duathalon in London on September 11, consisting of a 10k run, 20k bike ride and another 5k run, then the week after will be in Newcastle for the 13-mile BUPA Great North Run.

Proceeds will go to Sophie’s Wish, which supports the national charity Brain Tumour Research, and which was set up by family and friends of Sophie Burchill, aged two, who has a brain tumour. Visit www.mycharitypage.com/Rachy.
