Park then ride to the hospice lights festival

Leave the car and take the bus as St Luke’s Hospice adds a festive glow to Christmas with its Festival of Light.

The annual Christmas celebration sees the hospice and its trees decorated with thousands of white lights.

BBC Radio Sheffield presenter Georgey Spanswick will be performing the official switch on at 6pm on Sunday, December 1 and the lights will shine throughout Christmas.

But with so many people expected to attend the ceremony, a special park and rise service is being provided by bus company First.

Starting at 4.30pm, visitors will be able to park in the Tesco car park at Abbeydale Road and catch the First shuttle bus running to and from the hospice in Little Common Lane.

The ceremony, sponsored this year by John Heath and Sons, will also feature coffee, mulled wine, mince pies and seasonal music from the Holymoorside Brass Band and the St Luke’s volunteer choir.
