FORMER England cricket captain Michael Vaughan will be joined by a former patient of Sheffield Children’s Hospital on Tuesday for the naming of a train in honour of the hospital.
Michael, who is a patron of the hospital charity, will team up with ten-year-old Owen Wilkinson, from Barnsley, at Sheffield railway station for the naming of one of East Midlands Trains’ seven-carriage Meridian trains.
Owen’s life was saved by surgeons after he fell at school and needed emergency surgery for a severe bleed on the brain.
The train will travel regularly on East Midlands’ services between Sheffield, Derby, Leicester and London.
