Sheffield Hallam MP Nick Clegg has been named in a union investigation into MPS who have received donations from health companies and voted for privatisation of the NHS. Unite said the Deputy Prime Minister received £5,000 from Alpha Medical Consultancy for his constituency office in Nether Green.
The union involved in a campaign to scrap the Health and Social Care Act and ‘save the NHS’.
It claims the probe has revealed which politicians ‘stood to benefit from the sell-off’ of the NHS.
A Liberal Democrat spokesman said the party was ‘committed to healthcare free at the point of the delivery.’
He added: “Unite would be better off looking at the £250 million Labour paid to private companies for operations they didn’t carry out.”
