An election candidate helped clear compacted ice from a Sheffield street after he was contacted by residents.
Oliver Coppard said people had been touch about the treacherous condition of roads in the area around Lydgate school in Crosspool.
The Labour candidate for Sheffield Hallam said: “I was contacted by local parents who said they were worried about the ice - there have been some falls.
“I live nearby and I knew it was a problem so I decided to do something about it.”
Mr Coppard cleared Lydgate Lane with Labour supporters, on the same day a petition calling for 121 axed grit bind to be returned was put to Sheffield Council’s full meeting.
