Before curtain up on Jack and the Beanstalk at the Lyceum on Friday, Sheffield Theatres have announced next year’s pantomime.
Tickets will go on sale on Friday for Dick Whittington opening on the Lyceum stage on Friday, December 5, 2014 and running until Sunday, January 4, 2015..
Sheffield panto favourite Damian Williams, playing Dame Trott in Jack and the Beanstalk, will be returning in the show to be directed by Paul Hendy along with the regular team from Evolution Pantomimes.
In recent years Sheffield Theatres have been keen to encourage audiences to book early while they are in the panto mood with an announcement in the programme.
Dick Whittington, the story of a young man who sets off with his cat to seek his fortune in London where the streets are supposed to be paved with gold, was last performed at the Lyceum in 2002/3 with a cast that included Richard McCourt of Dick and Dom, Bodger and Badger, Tom Owen from Last of the Summer Wine, and London’s Burning’s Heather Peace,
In Jack and the Beanstalk, running from Friday to January 5, Damian Williams is joined by Ian ‘H’ Watkins from Steps, another graduate from London’s Burning in Andrew Fettes, Sarah Earnshaw, Pete Dunwell and Madeleine Leslay.
Tickets for Dick Whittington range from £10 to £23 plus booking fee.
