Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn and John Healey MP met with unions and steel workers in Rotherham this week to discuss the future of the UK steel industry.

The meeting took place at Dalton Parish Hall, where Mr Corbyn and Mr Healey discussed the challenges facing the Tata steel, which is set to lose 700 workers in total.

Mr Corbyn said: “If you want to have a manufacturing industry in the UK, you can’t do it without steel. If the company is not bringing young people in and not investing in research and development, I think we need to ask: what are their long term plans?”
