COMEDY was one of the mainstays in the 20th anniversary year of the Motorpoint Arena in Sheffield, with more than 130,000 tickets sold for the likes of Peter Kay, Russell Howard, John Bishop, Lee Evans, Alan Carr and Jason Manford.

Already on sale for 2012 are 11 nights of comedy including Michael McIntyre, John Bishop and Mrs Brown Rides Again.

Other performers and events lined up include Snow Patrol, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Il Divo, Steps, Westlife, Olly Murs, The Wanted, Drake, JLS, Torvill & Dean’s Dancing On Ice and Jeff Wayne’s Musical Version of The War of the Worlds featuring Liam Neeson in 3D holography.
