STAFF at a Sheffield law firm are throwing themselves into fundraising for the British Heart Foundation.

Nabarro, South Quay, was won round to the cause after a talk by Northern General Hospital cardiologist Dr Timothy Chico, whose research into congenital heart disease is funded by the charity.

Dr Chico said: “I’d like to thank Nabarro’s charity committee for choosing to support BHF-funded science.

“Research breakthroughs will save thousands of lives in the future and couldn’t be funded without local supporters donating, fundraising or volunteering.”

Chris Chambers, Nabarro partner, said: “We’re excited to support the BHF’s Mending Broken Hearts Appeal.

“Our employees are already busy fundraising with bucket collections and dress-down days and looking forward to taking part in the BHF Zumbathon at Don Valley Stadium next month.”

Mum-of-two Joanne Ward, of Kiveton Park, who had a heart attack aged 30 and is living with severe heart failure, said: “It is wonderful to have Nabarro’s support and anyone can help the BHF’s Mending Broken Hearts Appeal by joining them in the Zumbathon.”

It takes place on Sunday, July 8, at Don Valley Stadium. Entry is £5.
