A LEGO enthusiast from Sheffield is looking to build a following at an exhibition in Manchester.

Richard Hayes, of Stocksbridge, is a member of the Brickish Association, which brings together LEGO fans from across the UK. He will display a selection of his work at the Northern Modelling Exhibition on March 2 and 3.

His largest display will be a LEGO city layout which took four months to build, measures 4ft by 3ft and uses 3,672 pieces.

A self-employed website designer, Richard runs his own LEGO fan site, Brick Fanatics, which attracts about 30,000 visitors each month from the UK alone.

He said it will be his first exhibition where he showcases his own models. “I’m really excited. It’ll be a great opportunity to display my work and also meet other enthusiasts from across the country.

My wife and daughter will be attending the show with me, and it’s great to have their support. They’re used to me bringing home LEGO sets for them to try.”
