A project about occupations took on fresh appeal for children at Fox Hill Nursery, when
they were taken to visit a working farm – and asked to design their own ice cream.

Headteacher Juliet Owen says: “We selected Our Cow Molly at Dungworth because of its diversity… and to link with this visit we asked children to design an ice cream.”

Pupils were shown round the milking sheds, bottling plant and the ice cream factory and had a chance to meet some of the farm’s young inhabitants.

Then they returned to school to share a tub of the winning chocolate cupcake ice cream.
