Barrister failed to reveal convictions

Have your say

A barrister who failed to disclose a criminal record for possessing CS gas and obstructing police, as well as faking qualifications, has been stopped from practising law by a disciplinary tribunal.

Giles Norton, sole practitioner at Sheffield-based Enigma Chambers, was convicted of possessing the illegal weapon in 1998 but called to the Bar in 2004. The tribunal also fined him £3,000.
