Crowds were wowed by trial bike riders in an exciting city centre demonstration.
The sold-out event, staged by events management students at Sheffield Hallam University, transformed the square outside The Crucible into a challenging obstacle course.
Riders, volunteers and spectators created a party atmosphere as audiences watched the displays of skill, power and precision. Current junior world champion Jack Carthy took part and top riders from across the UK took part, while novices could also have a go.
Organisers Laura Cocking, Holly Benson, Emily Challender and Dan Armstrong also raised more than £750 for the Cathedral Archer homelessness project by working with Biketrial Federation UK and Tarty Bikes.
Ben Swales, from Biketrial, said: “They’ve managed to put on a brilliant event that has brought biketrials to a big audience and we’ve all had a great day. Even though this was a one-off event for their degree, we’ve had people asking us all day when the next one is and feedback from riders and the public has been fantastic.”
