Butcher Graeme Moxon turned firefighter when a bus burst into flames near his shop in Ecclesall Road, Banner Cross.

“I just picked up the shop extinguisher and ran over to see what I could do,” said Graham, aged 48, who runs Real Meat Sheffield.

Flames were as high as the TM Travel single decker, which was on Psalter Lane, he said. “I didn’t see any passengers but the bus driver was off and on the phone to the depot explaining about the fire.”

He added: “I just did what I hope anyone would have done.”
