“We feel it’s important that children have somewhere engaging, fun and safe to learn new skills, have fun and make new friends.”

Wentworth and Dearne MP John Healey, who is a director of the project, added: “I am proud to have backed this scheme as it does so much for the local community. This well-deserved injection of cash will enable them to refurbish the existing bowling green pavilion and run activities all year round.

“I hope they continue the good work, and I will continue to support them however I can in my role as director.”

Pops Summer Camp has been providing a wide range of fun activities, sports, bushcraft, arts and crafts for youngsters since its launch in 2012.
