Licensing committee members will decide next week whether to grant permission to a Sheffield pub to make structural changes after the environmental protection service raised concerns.
The Sportsman Inn, on Harvey Clough Road, Norton Woodseats, wants to create a new entrance, cut back an internal wall to create more open space in the lounge, and extend the garden to accommodate extra seating.
But, objecting, environmental health officer Jonathan Round said: “The current proposal is to introduce a huge opening in the side of the building with no lobby which will allow internal noise to escape. I have serious concerns about the additional of amplified sound into the external areas.”
Mr Round has suggested possible conditions to limit noise. Councillors will decide on Tuesday.
