Firefighters have finally extinguished a blaze at a wood recycling site near Penistone after almost two weeks.

The fire at R Plevins and Sons wood recycling site in Crow Edge started on June 2, with dozens of firefighters battling the blaze every day since.

But South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue confirmed on Friday afternoon that the fire was now out but added the site will continue to be monitored. The Environment Agency has also launched an investigation.
