A married man befriended a 13-year-old girl and encouraged eight friends to rape her in the back of his car, a court heard.

Dusan Pacan is accused of plying the teenager with alcohol and cannabis before eight men took it in turns to have sex with her over the course of two nights.

Richard Woolfall, prosecuting at Sheffield Crown Court, said Pacan made friends with the girl - who thought he was ‘beautiful’ - some time between 2011 and 2012 when she was aged just 13.

After meeting a couple of times, father-of-one Pacan met her again and this time brought friends with him along with vodka and cannabis.

The alleged victim said there had been up to five men in the back of Ducan’s VW Passat.

Mr Woolfall said: “The windows had been blacked out and she had sexual intercourse with Pacan while the others waited outside.

“But that wasn’t the end of it. It was at that point the defendant then effectively passed her around to the other five who, in turn, one after the other, got into the back seat of the car with her when she was very drunk, high on cannabis, effectively defenceless, and each had sex with her.

“She says she was scared, she was in shock, and worried that if she put up a fight she would be assaulted.”

The next day Dusan rang the girl to apologise - and asked to meet her again so he could say sorry in person.

“At the age of 13, young, naive and vulnerable, she took him at his word and put herself back in danger,” said Mr Woolfall.

When they met, Dusan was joined by three more friends and she was put through the same ordeal once more.

“Having been raped by eight different men over the course of two days she didn’t feel she could confide in anyone and tried to get on with her life,” said Mr Woolfall.

“It was only months later she was able to confide in others.”

Pacan, aged 27, of Cammell Road, Firth Park, Sheffield, was arrested in September last year. He admitted sex with the girl but has denied knowing she was under 16. He says the eight other men do not exist.

The trial continues.
