Headteacher is on the move

A SHEFFIELD headteacher is to become a senior Government school inspector later this year.

Helen Storey, who has been in charge at Silverdale Secondary in Bents Green, for the last 13 years, is leaving in April.

A letter has been sent to parents.

Jon Mordecai, chairman of governors, said: “Helen has provided excellent leadership. We are now an outstanding school with excellent results. She is extremely popular and will be missed - but we wish her all the best.”

Silverdale was designated as a languages specialist school in September 2005, and over 90% of Y13 pupils go into higher education.
