Move to the beat for Sheffield Carers Week

A unique event incorporating circus skills is being held in Sheffield city centre to help celebrate Carers Week from June 6 to 12.

Charity Sheffield Young Carers Project has teamed up with drummer-extraordinaire Jon Weaver, Sheffield Hallam University and the Green Top Circus for the ‘Move to the Beat for Carers Week’ event.

It is being held in Hallam Square, Howard Street, on Tuesday, June 7, from 5pm onwards and includes circus skills, maracas shaking and music.

There will also be a chance to find out more information about becoming a carer.

Carers Week is a national campaign which aims to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.

There are an estimated 7,300 young carers in Sheffield alone.
