Neighbours spoke of their shock this week after a 39-year-old woman was stabbed to death in her own home.
Anayat Bibi was found dead at her house on Vickers Road, Firth Park, with a post-mortem examination confirming that she died from multiple stab wounds.
Three men, aged 83, 42 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of murder, but the older and younger suspects were later released on bail pending further inquiries.
The 42-year-old was still in police custody when the Sheffield Telegraph went to press.
Neighbour Asim Iqbal, 21, described the victim as a ‘very quiet woman’.
“She was very nice,” he added.
The men were regular visitors to the local mosque.
Police were called to the crime scene at 11.35am on Sunday and neighbours said they saw officers leading three men out of the house wearing handcuffs.
Anyone with information should call 101, quoting incident number 454 of August 10, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
