Heeley City Farm has received a state-of-the-art CCTV system to combat a nasty spate of break-ins at the popular attraction.
The community organisation has been targeted by vandals and thieves a staggering seven times in the last fortnight - prompting the donation by Maplin Electronics on Pinstone Street.
Store manager Jonathan Hendley said: “Heeley City Farm does some fantastic work for the community and it’s really disappointing that it has been targeted repeatedly by thieves.
“After hearing of the farm’s security issues, I really wanted to help. The CCTV system we’ve donated will hopefully provide some peace of mind to the farm, as well as preventing further incidents.”
Sarah Hardy of Heeley City Farm said: “The new CCTV set donated by Maplin is just brilliant and means we now have full coverage of our site.
“The cameras are really up to date so we will have night vision as well.”
