Police object to 5am parties bid

POLICE are objecting to plans for two late-night parties at a Sheffield pub - because the organiser has not provided enough detail about security measures.

Craig Webster, of The Royal Standard, St Mary’s Road, near Bramall Lane, has asked for permission to hold a live music and drum and bass night between 8pm on November 24 and 5am on November 25.

He has also asked to hold a ‘live music event with DJs’ at the same times overnight on December 15 to 16.

The applications will be discussed at a meeting of Sheffield Council’s licensing board on Thursday.

South Yorkshire Police has objected to both applications on the grounds of preventing crime and disorder - which will be withdrawn only if security is satisfactory.
