Police have renewed their appeal for the community to help them catch the killer of a man found fatally wounded on a Sheffield estate.
Grant Bodell, aged 23, was found with gunshot wounds off Queen Mary Road, Manor, in the early hours of Saturday and died in hospital a short time later.
Detective Superintendent Dave Barraclough, leading the investigation, said: “We are still keen to hear from anyone with information and I would like to reiterate my appeal to the community.
“If you were in the Manor area, specifically near parkland off Queen Mary Road, on Friday evening or the early hours of Saturday and saw anything suspicious please contact police.
“The investigation is still at an early stage and there are numerous lines of enquiry that we are following. A thorough forensic examination of the scene concluded on Wednesday after several days of evidence gathering.
“House-to-house enquiries in the area are still taking place and the information gathered is being comprehensively investigated.
“We are still unable to say if the murder of Grant Bodell is linked to an incident at the Embassy Club in Intake but it is another of our continued lines of enquiry.
“This is a large scale investigation and we are doing everything we can to find the person or people responsible for Grant Bodell’s murder and bring them to justice.”
People can contact police at a neighbourhood policing tent on the park off Queen Mary Road, call on 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
