An entrance to a Sheffield hospital has been cordoned off after its roof collapsed, leaving smashed glass strewn across the ground.

The large canopy roof fell down outside the entrance to the X-ray and imaging department at the private Claremont Hospital in Sandygate.

Signs have been put up asking patients to use the main entrance.

A spokeswoman for the Claremont said it was ‘business as usual’, and that the hospital would not be commenting on the reason for the collapse.
