The proposals aim to ensure children, young people, adults and councillors combine resources to support every child to be the best they can. Recommendations as to how this could be achieved are to be looked at by commissioners and cabinet members at a meeting on Monday.

Councillor Gordon Watson, deputy council leader, said the scheme will help children to “reach their potential.”

As part of implementing its vision, the council is looking to things like the annual lifestyle survey to provide insights into the experiences of young people.

Council leaders are recommended to approve the setting up of a board and working groups. Other recommendations include developing excellence awards.
